It's good to see you students for the beginning of this semester. I have more news. P

We have raised so much money that we're going to use some to buy new sports equipment. P

Some money will be used to build science laboratories at the school. P

I want to extend my thanks to everyone who has helped with the fund raiser. P

Since we have extra money to spare, we will use it to pay for a new school bus for field trips. P

If anyone else has suggestions about what to do with the surplus money, please email the principal with your suggestions. P

20-2 Lesson 5-5-1

Matthew McClintock is highly opinionated when it comes to the government's security policy. P

He has lashed in criticism against the president's speeches and actions regarding the terrorist attacks. P

But political correspondent Rick Smith thinks otherwise and supports the president. P

He blames the American public for not doing their part. P

But everyone agrees that this is an issue that needs to be talked about. P

We cannot solve anything by blaming one other. P

Everyone must cooperate to get things done. P

We should listen to both sides of the government. P

20-3 Lesson 5-5-2

George Ritz stresses the need for phone taps on every American citizen's telephone. P

He has spoken negatively about the actions of political leaders. P

A supporter of the president has lashed out against the media. P

He claims that the government is doing their best. P

Everybody wants to see the situation resolved quickly. P

Nothing will get done unless both sides of the government keep talking. P

Bipartisanship effort is necessary to get things done. P

People should consider different views before they decide what is best for the country. P

John Hardman wants the administration to change their foreign policy. P

He has a different opinion than the governor. P

Secretary of State, Gunther Munich, has spoken in support of the president. P

He has sent the message that local governments must help in the effort. P

Bipartisan support is the only solution to fixing this mess. P

Nothing can be resolved if action is not taken soon. P

All must learn to work with each other to solve today's problems. P

Sometimes the government should listen more to the people than the legislators, who are supposed to represent them. P

20-5 Lesson 5-6-1

Now, this is a beautiful house. Would you like to go in and take a look around? P

This house has one bedroom and also comes with a small guest room. These sliding glass doors brighten up the living room. P

I'm worried that a burglar might come in through that door. P

Don't worry. We have a new security system set up in this neighborhood. Everything is safe. P

Well, then are there any schools nearby? P

There's one located just three blocks away. P

Then does this house have central heating? I'm very sensitive to the cold. P

How perfect! The previous owner left the house because this house was too hot for them. P

This house does seem like a perfect fit. P

20-6 Lesson 5-6-2

I've been saving this town house for you. Let's go and have a look inside, shall we? P

Yes! P

There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Although the dining room may be a bit small the expansive kitchen makes up for it. P

It's perfect for people who enjoy cooking. Look, there's even a glass door that connects the kitchen and the backyard. P

I'm a little bit scared that a thief may break in. P

Don't worry. The burglar-free security device is installed in this area, which will prevent robberies. P

Is there any recreation center in this area? P

The nearest one is right by the bus station. P

Does it have AC and Heating systems? My kids are easily affected by the temperature. P

All systems that you want are already installed. P

This house is absolutely gorgeous. Can we see it? P

This house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The dining room is very cozy and the living room is huge, which is excellent for throwing parties. P

If you go into the balcony, there is a doggy door for your pets. P

I'm really concerned that a crook will break in. P

Calm yourself. The security guard is patrolling the neighborhood all night so it is protected. P

I have two children and I need a good after school program they can go to. P

It is located close to the post office. P

How's the temperature of the house? My husband is very sensitive to the heat. P

The people who have lived here all say that this house is well built with the right amount of heat and cold. P

I think it's great. P

The neighborhood is very peaceful. P

Of course. There's a supermarket just a mile away. P

I see a lot of cars on the street during the day and I'm a little concerned about my son Zac. He's only four. P

I understand, but it was always like this. P

Is there a park near this area? P

Of course. This town is filled with parks. P

Do any of the parks have a seesaw? P

As a matter of fact, they do. P

That's great! Zac loves seesaws! P

How do you like the mansion? P

I love it. P

The neighborhood is very tranquil. P

Are the market and mall close by? P

Absolutely. The market is only five blocks from here. P

There's a lot of cars on the street so I worry about my five-year-old kid. P

I see, but the traffic here was always bad since I can remember. P

Is there a park or recreation center nearby? P

Yes, of course. There are many parks here. P

Do the parks have any grass fields? P

Yes, they do. P

What do you think of this apartment? P

It looks good to me. P

The neighborhood is very serene. P

Is there a pharmacy close by? P

Yeah. It's only a 5 minute drive away. P

It was very busy during rush hour. I'm worried about my kid. He's only three, and he's little bit rowdy. P

I see, but that's not going to be a big issue for you. P

Are there any playgrounds in this area? P

Yes. He can play there safely. P

Do any of the parks have a swing? P

They have many. P

I think New York is a great city. P

I think so, too. There are so many things to see. P

I was born and raised in New York City, but I went to college in Michigan. How about you? P

I moved here from Nevada a couple of months ago to find a job. I have lived all over. P

I am originally from Mississippi. My family and I moved to Canada when I was little. P

And then we moved to Washington D.C. when I was fourteen because of my father's occupation. P

This city is so huge! P

I agree. There's so many things that I can experience. P

I've lived here my whole life. Except the time when I went to college in San Francisco. What about you? P

I came here a couple of months ago from Florida to find a job. I move as frequently as I change socks. P

I moved from Georgia to Chicago when I was little. P

Then we moved to California when my dad got a job there. I was fifteen at that time. P

I was born in California but moved to Florida when I was young. P

This condo is fantastic. P

It has a beautiful view of the ocean and you only need to walk five minutes to get to the beach. P

There are several restaurants within walking distance. P

As you can see, the building has been remodeled from top to bottom. P

It would be the same as moving to a new apartment. P

The appliances inside are also new. P

The rent is below market value. P

The apartment building also has a swimming pool and a tennis court. P
