19-1 Lesson 4-16-1

Hello, boys and girls. If you would be so kind and give me your full and undivided attention for five minutes, we will get started with today's assembly. P

With us today is Mr. Johnson from the World Health Organization's Clean Water International Fund. P

He came to talk to us about many different things that are going on in our world these days. P

Did you know that in many countries, people are too poor to eat good food, drink clean water, or go to schools? P

He will pass out envelopes later today so that you and your parents can give donations to children of poor countries. P

This year, our visitor's organization is having a special campaign to help the poor children living in Latin America. P

Your generosity will help bring clean water, nutritious food, clothes, and educational supplies to these children. P

Any amount that you can donate will be appreciated. P

Now, let's direct our attention to our guest. P

19-2 Lesson 4-16-2

Good afternoon, students. May I please have your attention. We have a very special visitor with us. P

His name is Mr. Kingston and he's from an organization that helps children like yourselves called U.N.I.C.E.F., United Nations International Children's Education Fund. P

Did you know that there are some places around the globe where children like yourselves are living in poverty? P

That means they are so poor that they have to go to bed hungry because there isn't enough to eat. P

They don't have pretty clothes like you do because they have no money, and do not have a good education because they cannot go to school. P

Later, your teachers will pass out letters to you for your parents. We would like your family to contribute in an effort for kids in other countries. P

This year, the corporation is having a special project, to help the children in South Asia. P

With your donation, children in these poor countries will be able to drink clean water, eat good food, and have a better education. P

Even a small donation will go a long way. P

Now for the presentation. Please give a round of applause to our visitor! P

19-3 Lesson 4-16-3

Good Morning Folks, we have a very important guest in class today. P

Mr. Ken Foster is from the United Nations Development Program for Poverty Reduction. P

He came to visit us today to tell us about the organization and how we can help make the world a better place. P

Children, there are millions of youngstes in the world that are about your age that really have nothing. P

They don't have homes, clean water, food, clothes, or education. They are too poor to have such things. P

Before he leaves, our visitor will pass out cards with information for your parents. P

We would like for your families to get involved in helping the world become a better place. P

His association is having a special campaign this year to help the children of afflicted African countries. P

Your help is very important for the campaign. P

With just a few dollars, your generosity can help children get medical attention, a clean water supply, healthy food, and a good education. P

Now, please pay attention to the presentation, and ask lots of questions. P

Let's give a round of applause to our guest! P

19-4 Lesson 4-17-1

All students who are taking the test must report to the testing room at least ten minutes before the test begins. P

You must be there with your ID, a pencil and an eraser. P

All electronic devices must be turned off and placed under your seat or in a bag away from reach. P

Those caught cheating will fail the test and the class. P

Thank you for bearing with me. Be alert! P

19-7 Lesson 4-18-1

Ladies and Gentlemen! P

You're not going to believe this, but we received a message from the Russian satellites that asteroids are heading rapidly towards the earth. P

Experts believe that there's a great chance for them to miss Earth, but, if they don't, the damage could be deadly. P

They are approaching rapidly. P

It would be the worst natural disaster that the modern world has ever faced. P

The leaders around the world plan to meet to discuss about this possible tragedy. P

People should not panic but stay calm and prepare the area for their safety. Stay away from metal objects. P

We will continually report any changes through the media. P

May God be with you always. P

19-8 Lesson 4-18-2

Now, listen up everyone. P

We have a serious problem here. Our planet is in great danger. P

A meteoroid is hurtling towards our planet. P

Scientists say that there is a slim chance it will hit the earth, but if it does, many people will die. P

It will be worse than a twelve point earthquake on the Richter scale. P

We may face even more dangerous circumstances before we can figure out the situation. P

The leaders all around the globe are uniting and planning a stop to the possible destruction of planet earth. P

Everyone should stay where they are and not leave town. Panic will only make things worse. P

Underground shelters are best. No one should be near any object that is made of steel and copper. P

Instructions will be announced on television and radio over the next few days. P

Everyone should take care of each other in the meantime. P

19-9 Lesson 4-18-3

I need everyone's attention! Please listen to me. P

Something major has just happened. P

The human population is endangered by an alien object that is headed straight towards earth. P

The government might send a missile to destroy this alien if the earth is in danger of being struck by it. P

Some scientists claim that if it did hit the earth, it would be deemed the apocalypse. P

The President and Secretary of Defense will meet tomorrow and give a speech about what to expect within the next few days. P

Local government officials are urging all people not to run away. If the unspeakable occurs, people's best bet is to hide in their basement. P

You should keep away from metal materials. P

People should be on the lookout for further announcements. Good luck. P

19-10 Lesson 5-1-1

Welcome, everyone to our orientation assembly. P

This is your vice principal, Shaniqua Shawnson, with important announcements. P

Once you enter, you may not use electronics that have lights. P

The "No camera" signs prohibit any form of photography inside the exhibit. P

If you don't see any signs posted, you may use a camera. P

It is strictly prohibited to record anything inside. P

Good morning! It's my pleasure to be your guide for the fifty year anniversary tour of the John Wayne History Museum. P

Many things have changed over the years. P

You need to be aware of some new rules before you go in. P

Inside, there will be posted signs saying "No photography allowed". P

You will not be able to take pictures where "No Flash Photography" signs are posted on the walls. P

If you go inside and see that in some places there are no signs posted, you can take pictures without the flash. P

Camcorders and other video recording devices will not be allowed inside. P

The department store sells photos of the objects from the exhibit. P

We sell many souvenirs in the giftstore, including posters, books, and shirts. P

The souvenir shop is right behind the food court. I thank everyone for coming. P

19-16 Lesson 5-3-1

Today is the end of the test. P

I am going to measure your flexibility today. P

It's not hard, but you must follow the rules. P

This is the instrument used to measure flexibility. P

I will put this on the cushion up against the wall. P

You need to take off your shoes. P

You knees cannot be bent. P

Your legs need to be straight. P

An assistant will make sure your legs are straight. P

You must also keep your back straight. P

If not, you might limit your potential range of motion. P

Please keep your hands together. P

If your hands are not together, I will measure the hand closest to you. P

Well, good luck! P

19-17 Lesson 5-3-2

Today marks the last day of the athletic test. P

Today I will test how flexible you guys are. P

It's not too difficult, but there are guidelines in place. P

We will measure your flexibility with this machine. P

This instrument will be placed on the mat against the wall. P

Please take off your shoes. P

You may not bend your knees during the test. P

Please make sure your legs are straight. P

If it's too difficult, a spotter will help keep your legs straight. P

You can hunch your back, but try to keep it straight. P

If you don't, your limbs might not stretch as much as they could. P

Your hands will need to be held together. P

If you cannot have your hands together, I will measure the one closer to your body. P

Everyone, please do your best! P

19-18 Lesson 5-3-3

The fitness test concludes today. P

I'm going to see how flexible you guys are. P

There are certain guidelines for the test. P

I will use this object to measure your flexibility. P

I will place this instrument on the ground beneath you. P

You may have socks on, but your shoes will have to come off. P

Please don't bend your knees. P

Your legs must be as straight as can be. P

A spotter will have his hands on your knees to make sure you don't bend them. P

Make sure that your back is straight during the test. P

If your back isn't straight, you might not achieve your potential of flexibility. P

Hands must be clasped together. P

I will measure the hand closest to you if your hands are not clasped together. P

Try your best please. P

19-19 Lesson 5-4-1

Welcome to the first assembly of the year. P

The fund raiser raised more than we expected. P

It might buy you guys some gym equipment. P

Thank you for all your help. P

From the surplus, we'll be able to sell school merchandise fifty percent cheaper. P

If you're interested in any of the upcoming projects, please email the vice principal. P

19-20 Lesson 5-4-2

I'd like to welcome the students to our annual meeting. P

The school has raised more than enough money to buy science equipment this year. P

We were thinking of contributing some money to building new basketball courts. P

Congratulations for helping raise this money. P

What's even better is that because of the extra money, we'll be able to install new toilets in the bathroom. P

If you would like to contribute anything, please send your money to the school treasurer. P
