4) 기타 전치사

a. at: (수치) 나이, 속도, 온도, 비율 등을 표시하는 경우

Ex) Water freezes at 0℃.

물은 섭씨 0℃에서 언다.

Ex) Mix flour and water at a ratio of three to one.

밀가루와 물을 3:1의 비율로 섞어라

b. by: …옆에 / (교통수단, 방법) ….로 / (주체) …에 의해

Ex) The key is hanging on a string by the door.

열쇠는 문 옆에 줄로 매어 걸어 놓았다. (hanging on a string 줄에 매달린)

Ex) We crossed France by train.

우리는 기차로 프랑스를 횡단했다. (cf. 걸어서 on foot)

Ex) The company was somewhat affected by the strike.

회사는 파업에 어느 정도 영향을 받았다. (somewhat 어느 정도, strike 파업)

c. 전치사 with + 사람: …와 함께, …를 데리고 / + 사물: …을 가지고 (cf. without ~없이)

Ex) Did you go there with your elder sister, Jessica?

너는 거기에 언니, Jessica와 함께 갔니?

Did you go there with your backpack?

너는 거기에 배낭가방을 가지고 갔니?

d. about : …에 관하여, 대하여

Ex) I asked him for help but he didn’t want to know about my problem.

나는 그에게 도움을 요청했으나 그는 내 문제에 대해 알려고도 않았다.

e. between(둘 사이) / among(셋 이상) : 서로

Ex) The trade between two countries was interrupted by the war.

두 나라 사이의 무역이 전쟁 때문에 중단되었다.

f. of: (소속, 소유관계) ~의, ~에 대하여

Ex) Eric is the son of my friend, Jason. Eric은 나의 친구, Jason의 아들이다.
