(7) 동격으로 쓰인 경우

Ex) I will not forget my duty, to study hard. (나는 나의 임무, 열심히 공부하는 것을 잊지 않을 것이다.)

Ex) My plan, to master English this year, can't be changed. (올해, 영어를 마스터하는 것, 즉 나의 계획은 변경될 수 없다.)

* 부정사를 목적어로 취하는 동사 [11.동명사_5)동명사와 부정사 참고]

afford, agree, aim, care, choose, claim, decide, demand, desire, determine, expect,

fail, hesitate, hope, learn, long, manage, mean, offer, plan, prepare, pretend, promise,

refuse, seek, tend, want, wish etc.

Ex) He wished to go abroad. (그는 외국에 가기를 소망했다.)

Ex) I hope to see you again. (나는 당신을 다시 만나고 싶다.)

Ex) I expect to succeed. (나는 성공하기를 기대한다.)

Ex) I didn`t mean to hurt your feeling. (나는 당신의 감정을 다치게 하고 싶지 않다.)

Ex) She promised to buy me a camera. (그녀는 나에게 카메라를 사줄 것을 약속했다.)

Ex) They are planning to leave tomorrow. (그들은 내일 떠날 예정이다.)

Ex) I don`t care to go there. (나는 그곳에 가고 싶지 않다.)

Ex) She decided to attend the party. (그녀는 파티에 참여하기로 결정했다.)

Ex) He can afford to buy a car. (그는 차를 살 형편이 된다.)

Ex) She refused to help me. (그녀는 나를 돕기를 거절했다.)

Ex) He managed to pay his debts. (그는 그의 빚을 그럭저럭 갚았다.)

* 동명사와 부정사를 둘 다 목적어로 취하는 동사

- 뜻이 동일 한 경우

: attempt, begin, cease, continue, decline, intend, neglect, omit, purpose, start, bear,

stand, love, like, hate, prefer etc.

- 뜻이 달라지는 경우: stop, try, regret, remember, forget
